The Judgment Seat of Christ
Did you know there are rewards and losses for Christians depending on how they live after they receive Jesus Christ? The judgment is called the Judgment Seat of Christ and it is likened to an athletic event.
I. Only those saved will appear

II. The Nature of the Judgment
• 1 Corinthians 3:13-15
• What quality—what sort it is
• The faithful will receive rewards and the unfaithful children of God will suffer loss. Lot in Genesis 19 is a great picture of a Christian that suffers lost.
• 1 Timothy 5:18—those who serve the Lord are worthy of reward
• Colossians 3:24-25
III. The Rewards
• Gold, Silver and Precious Stones (1 Corinthians 3:11-12)
• Crowns
o Crown of Righteousness—2 Timothy 4:8 for those who look forward to and love the appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ at His second coming
o Crown of Life—James 1:12 & Revelation 1:20—a martyrs crown for those who have died for the Lord or endured temptation unto blood (Hebrews 12:4)
o Crown of Rejoicing—1 Thessalonians 2:19 is given to those who have led others to the Lord
o Incorruptible Crown—1 Corinthians 9:25 for those who been temperate and kept his body under control
o Crown of Glory—1 Peter 5:4 for those who are pastors of a congregation and preach and teach and lead the folks as the Lord wants them to
• Authority during the Thousand Year Reign of Jesus Christ
o Revelation 20:6
o 2 Timothy 2:12
o Luke 19:15-26
